On having a girl

Now that she's here, this is all I can think about.

Chris Rock on having daughters: His take on it is, his only job is to "keep her off the pole." I find this hilarious. Always have. Great clip, but LANGUAGE. If you don't like curse words, skip the video (but if you can handle them, it's a great minute-and-a-half).

I would hereby like to respectfully add my own items to the list:

Keep her out of the orange shorts ...

and off The Bachelor/Bachelorette.

AMEN.

ha! I agree! I've always wondered how women can go on that Bachelor show! I'd also like to add "Girls Gone Wild" videos and Teen Mom!

That is awesom! Nothing like a good Chris Rock video to get your day going.

I grew up in a time when sex was not even acknowledged, questioning one's religious beliefs was considered WRONG and all the family secrets were kept locked away. I wanted my girls to be able to discuss anything and everything. Keeping the lines of communication open is my biggest tip of all. The day one of the comes with "I dropped out of college', it won't be a complete surprise and you will be ready with some new house rules! Enjoy your sweet Amelia. She will grow up very quickly. Hopefully, the doting big brothers will always have her back.

As a mother to a daughter, I have already had all these thoughts. Lordy be, keeping her off the pole is a huge priority. ;)
