Jake graduated from college. Okay, preschool.

Jake graduated from Nathaniel and Nick's alma mater about two weeks ago.

YES I KNOW IT'S JUST PRESCHOOL. But they wore caps and gowns. And they recited the Pledge of Allegiance from memory. And if that isn't just the cutest little thing you've ever seen, there's something wrong with you.

They sang songs with sophisticated choreography.

Please note how every child was at a different point in the choreography as they sang, below. The Rockettes, they're not.

They stood up and told the audience what they want to be when they grow up. Jake apparently wants to be a doctor. Or a veterinarian. That's an X-ray he's holding, right?

Jake is our third child to have had the honor of reading a poem or book to the parents. Jake is a great reader thanks to the hard work of Miss Anna, our babysitter and his phonics teacher.

After the program was over, they served cupcakes. CUPCAKES! Life doesn't get any better, if you're Amelia.

No assistance is required, NOR IS IT WELCOME.

She will handle it all by herself, thank you very much.

Jake was excited to get a cupcake, too ...

But thank goodness he's gotten substantially better at eating them over the years. He gets most of them in his mouth these days.

I had to take a picture of him with three of the most significant people to him ... this is Ms. Elaine, our assistant director.

This is Ms. Raja, who has been all three of the boys' pre-K teacher.

And this is our beloved Miss Anna, babysitter, phonics, computer and cooking teacher extraordinaire. Also, our Doc McStuffins stand-in, as she mends all of our stuffed animals with her needle and thread when they are "injured."

I can't believe we have another Graduate. Another one on the way to elementary school. Next year, Amelia will be the only one left at daycare. Do you know that if Amelia stays there through preschool graduation (age 5), we will have been at this daycare center for almost 13 years? Blows my mind.

Congratulations, Jakey. I'm so proud of you.
