Humid. Period.

We had a hectic but fun-filled weekend spent mostly outdoors, which is my favorite kind. I'd thought I'd have my stuff together last night, at least enough to throw together a post about some of the fun we had.

However, on Saturday night at 10:00, a friend from Atlanta called to ask if he could spend the night last night on his way through town, so our weekend unexpectedly took a turn for an additional houseguest (we had other houseguests on Saturday night; more on that tomorrow). We LOVE having visitors, especially visitors who are happy to play MarioKart with the boys and open up new vehicles and races for them. INSTANT HERO STATUS AT OUR HOUSE, Y'ALL.

So anyway, about the weekend ... did you know we live in Alabama? Hot, humid Alabama, to be exact. And while I can't go over it all right now, I did want to leave you with this completely unedited picture of Jakey from yesterday afternoon. This is what his hair AND my hair look like when losing the battle with our heat and humidity, especially after a quick dip in the lake:

I KNOW, RIGHT?

Love the pic! I had my hair in a ponytail on Saturday and by the time I got home, I looked like I had stuck my finger into an socket! Gotta love Alabama humidity!

I agree that this is one for the ages! And the Alabama humidity is absolutely epic. This weekend, with the constant threat of -- and some reality of -- showers, our family hair really suffered!

It's much more humid here, too - yuck!
When I first looked at the title of your post, I thought it said, "Human. Period." Perhaps *I* should write that post!
