The Xlerator strikes again

Last summer on our way to the beach, we were desperate and stopped at a truck stop near midnight for a potty break. After Grayson and the big boys got back to the minivan, I hopped out and went inside, too.

It was REALLY quiet in there, given the time of night, and it was so quiet in the women's restroom that you could have heard a pin drop.

I washed my hands and pressed the button on the hand dryer, AND RIGHT THEN AN F-15 LANDED IN THE BATHROOM. Well, not really, but I thought one had. What ACTUALLY happened is that I had just had my first encounter with The XLERATOR.

Have you had the pleasure? With one press of the button, your ears are filled with the roar of a jet engine, and your hands are dried with the power of one. All I can say is, on that dark night in Nowhere, Georgia, it was a very good thing I'd just emptied my bladder, or I would have had an accident on my hands.

I'd not seen another one since, until I used the restroom in My New SuperTarget on Saturday. This time I had just a little advance warning, as someone washed and dried her hands as I was walking in the door. I knew what was coming. Wet to dry in less than 10 seconds. And I mean sopping wet to BONE. DRY.

I am fairly sure there's no way to catch the power adequately on video, but I did my best. Note how the skin on my hands and arms is stretched by the air pressure. I'm pretty sure it almost blew a freckle off.
