Cropping the day away

Today I'm away at the annual Summer Crop, a scrapbooking event hosted by my dear friend Laura at a B&B in central Alabama. Only an hour from my house, it's quite an escape from The Everyday. From Friday morning to Sunday morning, we crop, eat and fellowship in a beautiful location.

Scrapbooking is a relaxing and rewarding hobby for me, and I count the summer and winter weekend crops as two of the most-looked-forward-to times of the year.

I started early in life, apparently ... my sister recently uncovered this picture of me crafting in my grandmother's fairytale garden of a backyard in 1979.

And this setting is similar in feel to where I'm scrapbooking this weekend ... I'll try to take some pictures of the B&B to share when I get back.

Here's wishing a relaxing, fun weekend to all of the busy moms out there!

Amy we missed you! Post going up about it in the morning; we had a great time.

RLR, we really did have fun. Maybe one day if you can make it to Alabama, we can get you started on scrapbooking if you don't already do it!
