So, I know it's totally cheating to post a note from FaceBook on my blog. But I've done it before, and I'm a little tired today, so I'm taking it a little easy. Plus, most people in my family aren't on FaceBook, so this will be their only chance to see it.
Sorry it comes so close to the most recent Slices of Life, which is similar! Here we go ... I was tagged to ask my kids (the two who can talk) a series of questions, and type their responses verbatim. So, this is completely unfiltered. Sorry for references to bodily functions. In their own words, I present Nathaniel's (6) and Nicholas' (4) impressions of me:
1. What is something your mom always says to you?
Nathaniel: "I love you."
Nicholas: "I love you."
2. What makes your mom happy?
Nathaniel: "When I say that I like you."
Nicholas: "When I have a perfect day."
3. What makes your mom sad?
Nathaniel: "When Ellie died."
Nicholas: "When I have a bad day."
4. What makes your mom laugh?
Nathaniel: "When I tickle you in the armpits. Mommy, lift your arm up!"
Nicholas: "A joke, like when I say Stop, Drop and Poop."
5. What was your mom like as a child?
Nathaniel: "Barbies."
Nicholas: "You rode a bike."
6. How old is your mom?
Nathaniel: "35. You're old enough to be a president!"
Nicholas: "Um, 15."
7. How tall is your mom?
Nathaniel: "205 feet"
Nicholas: "THIS tall." (holds hands three inches above his own head)
8. What is her favorite thing to do?
Nathaniel: "Play with us."
Nicholas: "Watch TV."
9. What does your mom do when you're not around?
Nathaniel: "Just sit down and be bored."
Nicholas: "Look for me."
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
Nathaniel: "Pooping."
Nicholas: "Having a birthday."
11. What is your mom really good at?
Nathaniel: "Playing with us."
Nicholas: "Riding a bike."
12. What is your mom not very good at?
Nathaniel: "Fighting."
Nicholas: "Riding a bike with no wheels on it."
13. What does your mom do for her job?
Nathaniel: "Raise money at a bank."
Nicholas: "Go to work."
14. What is your mom's favorite food?
Nathaniel: "Diet Coke."
Nicholas: "Tomatoes."
15. What makes you proud of your mom?
Nathaniel: "When you were brave and had Jake."
Nicholas: "I don't know."
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?
Nathaniel: "Gwin." (Ben 10 Alien Force's friend who helps him)
Nicholas: "Annie on Little Einsteins."
17. What do you and your mom do together?
Nathaniel: "Play the jumping game."
Nicholas: "Build puzzles."
18. How are you and your mom the same?
Nathaniel: "We have the same eyeballs, the same hairs, and the same bones. And Daddy and Nick can roll their tongues, and we can't."
Nicholas: "We live in the same house."
19. How are you and your mom different?
Nathaniel: "I'm a boy and you're a girl."
Nicholas: "You don't have a penis."
[Nick got bored and walked away.]
20. How do you know your mom loves you?
Nathaniel: "Because you always tell me."
Nicholas: "I don't know."
21. Where is your mom's favorite place to go?
Nathaniel: "Waffle House."
Nicholas: "I DON'T KNOW."

Pursuant to Nick's answer to #9, you should make him take the Narcissism Test.
I second Sarah’s motion relative to Nick’s answer to #9 and add a recommendation for a class to direct him away from his tendency toward male chauvinism clearly shown in his response and reaction to #19, 20 and 21.
