In plain sight

I don't know if you're like this, but sometimes I don't "see" things that are in plain sight in my own house. They become part of the background.

I mean, not to put too fine a point on it, but one of my Christmas wreaths may or may not still be hanging in our kitchen window.

Huh.

I vaguely remember noticing it back in February, and I'd conveniently forgotten about it again until I was chatting with Amelia while she ate some yogurt last night.

I don't know if you noticed anything else that looked a little "off" in my kitchen in that picture, but Lord knows, YOU SHOULD HAVE.

There are three fruit bowls on the island. One of them is holding Grayson's vitamins. Amelia and I disapprove.

Fruit bowl #2 is actually holding fruit bowl #3. Makes sense.

Also still proudly displayed in our kitchen is Nathaniel's 5th-grade terrarium project. I regret to inform all of you that our guppy crossed the great rainbow bridge this week, but our algae-eating snail lives on!

SO I CAN'T THROW IT AWAY.

I won't even mention the cooler and empty box that are sitting over there ... those are just, whatever.

What I'd really like you to notice is that with three -- THREE -- fruit bowls on the island, this is where our fruit has been sitting all week.

Yerp. Cardboard box top.

Why not.
