I'm happy to report I'm still alive

First of all, thanks for your comments yesterday. It cracked me up to hear that about 100 percent of you also fear driving into the pit at the oil change place.

Second, Nathaniel and I were jogging last night, and it was the first time I'd jogged two miles without walking in over a year. I was huffing and puffing up the last hill.

Nathaniel: "Mommy, are you okay? You sound like you're about to die."

Me: "WELCOME TO EXERCISE."

On the plus side, I've lost 10 pounds AND I won the first-person-to-100,000-steps challenge issued by my friend Melanie. In the minus column, this is how I look when I run:

Greasy ponytail: check.
Nerdy headlamp: check.
Oily sheen covering face: check.
Necklace making it look like I have fat neck rolls: check.

Good times, Internet, good times.

You're doing great. And as much as I hate jogging with other people, I'm so jealous you're jogging with the boys!

This may sound creepy, but I don't care. Since I feel like I am still a newbie to your blog I like to click on the recommened links and read past posts. It has come to my attention that you are a Friday Night Lights fan, ME TOO!!! I can't figure out why I never watched this while it was on air, seeing as my husband and I are both football fans, but somehow it escaped us. We started it on Netflix a couple months back and I get all giddy when a brand new red envelope appears in my mailbox. We are in the second season right now. Love the coach and his wife, hilarious! Tim Riggins, need I say more?

Way to go - two miles without walking! I think I've only done that once or twice (I'm better as an interval runner - based on minutes, not miles).
I look pretty ridiculous when I run at night, too. Cap with bill-mounted lamp to light my way, rear-pointing blinking light attached to me, too (usually on the back of my hat).
Thankfully, you can't see my red face at night! Seriously, I don't wear red/pink/coral/lilac running tops because my face gets SO red. Even when I'm in better shape and not struggling!
Can't wait until my kids are interested in running with me. Hopefully pretty soon!

Run baby Run!!! Way to win the challenge. If I was a betting person I would have bet on you!
