Five questions, five answers

Last June, I started to answer some of the 365 questions posted at markandangel. And then I didn't post any more of them until now. That's what you come here for ... CONSISTENCY!

Today I thought I'd answer five more of them, so here we go ...

Do you ask enough questions or do you settle for what you know?
I ask a lot of questions about a few things. For instance, I'm always interested to know what someone thinks about Downton Abbey or Parks & Rec. But as far as U.S. presidents go, I'm good. I feel no need to ask any questions to supplement my meager knowledge on that front.

Who do you love and what are you doing about it?

That's a pretty long list. I'm fortunate to have a lot of really great people in my life, and I hope I celebrate them in small but recognizable ways pretty regularly. But the sort of go-to answer is My Kids. I love them more than life itself, even though they get on my nerves about 50 percent of the time I'm in their presence. What am I doing about it? I hope I'm covering up the fact that they get on my nerves about 50 percent of the time well enough that they can't tell.

What’s a belief that you hold with which many people disagree?

All dogs go to heaven. And cats. Also that many people who lead alternative lifestyles will end up there. I'm one of those Christians that drives a lot of Christians crazy, because there are just a lot of things I think about my loving God that conflict with more traditional views about Him. But that's between He and I. People are going to have to agree to disagree with me, and when I'm up in heaven petting Scout on the head, I'll just look at them knowingly and smile.

What can you do today that you were not capable of a year ago?

Jog two miles without stopping.

Do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength?

Neither. I think it's a sign of sadness or extreme happiness. Or a sign that you're reading Damn You AutoCorrect.

I knew that there was a common bond between us! The one on religion... bucking my Baptist upbringing to a great extent. It is between HE and I. Even my mother shakes her head when I tell her that Baptist do a great job of indoctrinating.
