Where we are

Just a quick update following my OB visit this morning ... when I got there, my BP was elevated, which is extremely unusual for me. Luckily, after about 20 minutes on my left side, it returned to normal.

However, I haven't made any progress toward labor at this point, so instead of checking in at the hospital at 6:30 on Monday morning, we're now going to check in on Sunday afternoon at 4:30. They'll insert a cervical balloon to help move things along, which will be "uncomfortable," as my male OB put it, but will help speed things along on Monday.

My sister arrives this evening from Wyoming, and my parents arrive tomorrow afternoon, so this will be my last post until I get to the hospital. My PLAN is to keep you all updated via the blog if I'm able. If I'm not, visit here anyway because if you're not on Twitter, you can at least check for Twitter updates in my sidebar. ---> (I'm hoping that even if I'm not able to blog, I will at least be able to Tweet from my phone.)

I am on relaxed bedrest until I check into the hospital, just to help keep my BP down. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we prepare for Amelia's arrival ... I can't believe we're down to just three days!

(Does it shock you as much as it shocks me to see a picture of myself on here? I rarely have pictures that I'm in, so I think it's really weird.)

Oh, my goodness! Where did the time go? I am sure that you are ready to have Amelia in your arms, NOW! Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy the time with family before the weariness of interrupted sleep begins. I know the boys in the house are excited as well.
Gentle Hugs. Beckie

Praying for you and Amelia. Take it easy for the next few days.

P.S. My birthday is Sunday if she wants to make an early appearance. Sept. 25th is a great day to be born!

How exciting! Good luck (not that you need it). I had elevated BP with my last child, too. I was scheduled to be induced on a Tuesday but had been told a dr. (not my own) on Friday that he didn't think I was "ready." My own dr. told me on Monday that she would induce me anyway.... but told me that I must have been so horrified to be told I couldn't be induced that I raised my BP just to FORCE them to induce me. ha ha! I think my body was just tired of carrying around that heavy baby. She was warm & comfortable and had no interest leaving the womb but my body had different plans! (It probably just wanted a good fruity martini after 9 months without!) I'll be thinking of you on Sunday & Monday.

Sending you the happiest wishes for healthy mommy and healthy baby girl. I spent two months on left-side bed rest for BP issues and it's not fun. I hope the next couple of days go by quickly and comfortably for you.

Yay for babies! I'll be thinking about you -
