Each day is the same as the one before ... and that's a GOOD thing

We continue to enjoy the heck out of every day at the beach!

We started off yesterday morning with homemade pancakes. Jakey was a big fan.

Even though we make them at home on a somewhat regular basis, he was pleased as punch that they were on the morning menu.

Once we hit the beach for the morning, Grayson and I dug a big hole, and then some of the kids chipped in and helped.

Jake helped by sitting in the hole and occasionally scooping some sand out with his bucket. You can tell from the expression on Nick's face that he was in it for the long haul ... he was SERIOUS about digging that hole.

In the video below, you can see that HE WAS A MACHINE. He was shoveling sand out of that hole like nobody's business.

As the morning wore on, he began to wear the signs of the dig on his face.

At times it reminded me of war paint.

And Nick wasn't the only one. It always amazes me how much sand babies can get on their faces and near or in their eyes, and it doesn't bother them.

It bothered Jake more when I attempted to wipe or wash it OFF his face than the fact that it was actually ON his face. So I gave up.

Don't let this face fool you ... he was smiling like he was happy as a clam. He was just squinting so hard because the sun was directly in his face.

The closer we got to lunchtime, the more the tide crept in. Finally water was regularly pouring into the hole.

It kept them all occupied for HOURS yesterday. So worth the 20 minutes we originally put into digging it!

After lunch, Grayson took the big boys back out to the ocean for more fun, and I stayed in while Jakey napped. It was his first nap of the trip, and HE NEEDED IT. When he woke up, I took him out to the pool since he loves it so much.

If you listen closely, at the beginning you can hear him announce, "CANNONBAWWWWL," just before he jumps in. He did that like 42 times.

And that's how we amused ourselves until it was time for supper! So even though we're doing a lot of the same things every day, the kids are LOVING IT ALL. They are having a super time, and I'm sure you'll agree that there's just something so rewarding about watching your kids have so much fun.

More pictures of -- what else? -- water fun tomorrow, God willing and Time Warner Cable doesn't screw us again.
