On the hunt

On Saturday, we hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt at our house for my Bunko group, and it was a lot of fun. We lucked out with the weather being as nice as it was ... we'd had a hit-or-miss kind of week in terms of weather, but God smiled on us Saturday and gave us sun and 76 degrees!

Last week when I was preparing for the Hunt, I assumed that come today I'd have many, many pictures of my kids to share with you (more, in fact, than you could ever possibly be interested in seeing). However, there were a lot of people here, the big kids scooped up the eggs so quickly that some of the smaller, slower kids didn't get many, and I didn't get a single picture of my kids hunting with their baskets.

I did get a couple of pictures of them together right before everyone got here:

I took over 100 pictures, but I don't have anyone's permission to post pictures of their kids on my blog, WHICH NOW HAS MORE THAN 10 FOLLOWERS (I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS.) Of course, that didn't stop me from posting all manner of pictures of Honor's kids that I took last weekend in Chattanooga, but I'm pretty sure she was OK with that.

[Off on a Tangent Alert] I signed up to follow two of my favorite blogs just to see if I could figure it out. I thought maybe it would be like BlogLines for lazy people, like it would send directly to my inbox new posts from those two blogs with absolutely no additional information provided by me other than my Click of "I want to follow this blog." Nope.

On Blogger.com, it says, and I quote, "When you become a follower of a blog, the blog will also be added to your Reading List on your Blogger dashboard." However, no blogs show up on my dashboard, so either I'm an idiot or Blogger is an idiot. I'm leaning toward Blogger being the idiot, because when I go to those two blogs, I see my 1-cm face plastered there under their Followers, so I'm sure it took.

Anyway, WELCOME, NEW FOLLOWERS, I HOPE YOU KNOW HOW IT WORKS. [End Tangent.]

So we really did have fun at our Hunt, even the little kids who didn't find as many eggs as some others, which couldn't POSSIBLY be due to Nathaniel and my friend Lisa's son Josh surveying the yard as the Egg Hiders were busily completing their task. That would be MY SON excitedly pointing out an Egg Location to Josh here.

The basic Rule of the Day is that each child brings 12 eggs so that every child can leave with 12 eggs. It doesn't always happen that way, but we try to even it out in the end. I think everyone left happy. At least, I hope they did.

We plan to go to church this Sunday and get the traditional family picture in front of the Living Cross, so hopefully I'll be back in a week with more Seasonally Fun Photos. Happy Easter, everyone!

Kat, calm down and "READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!" You are acting like a male. I just couldn't resist.

I think in order for a blog you are following to show up on your dashboard you must set it up there under "Reading List" - "Blogs I am following". I have yours and Patrice's set up in mine and it does advise me of updates and give a brief review with photo. I think it should also show any you have set up using "FriendConnect" whatever that is.

It does work provided you can slow your brain down enough to figure it out.

Love, Chris

Hi, Haritha! Welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by.

Chris, Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that. HOWEVER, I believe it is misleading to state that, "When you become a follower of a blog, the blog will also be added to your Reading List on your Blogger dashboard" if, in fact, you have to SET IT UP YOURSELF. Their verbiage indicates that it will happen automatically. Rest assured, I will keep you posted.

I really don’t endorse the “egg redistribution” policy of the Easter egg hunt. I think it send the wrong message to our kids. I plan on starting a petition before next year to allow kids who find the eggs to keep them and prevent over protective mothers from redistributing the eggs to support less successful or lazy egg hunters.

May I say, I'm honored to have you as a Follower! No help from me, here. I have all the blogs I follow on my dashboard....it's over on the left hand side.

Precious pics of your kiddos...I love your blog!
