Mini-update on Jake

Not much to report yet, but Jake came through the CT scan just fine. We started out with registration and putting on his shiny new hospital ID bracelet:

Then we went back to radiology, where they decided that -- due to his wiggliness -- they'd bundle him up and tie him down. He looked like a little mummy:

Next, they tried to reassure him that everything was going to be OK. This was not very effective, although they gave it their best shots. Props to them for trying to calm down the 6-month-old who hadn't eaten in 12 hours and isn't fond of straitjackets. Ineffective, but well-intentioned:

At that point, they asked me to put the camera down and come comfort my baby. No problem! Happy to be of assistance. I, too, was unsuccessful in calming him down, especially because they made me hold his chin tightly in one hand while his head was stuffed between two vinyl columns and the machine whirred around him. But no worries ... when it was over and I was removing my lead apron, he calmed right down when the x-ray tech unbound him:

Our pediatrician won't read the results until tomorrow, but I'll let you know as soon as I know. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, calls and e-mails! We are blessed by your care and concern.
